Electrical Manager [New Zealand]

We are seeking a suitably qualified and skilled Electrical Manager to join the Maintenance Team at our Tasman Mill, located in Kawerau, the sunny Eastern Bay of Plenty. This is a newly established, full time permanent, predominately a Monday to Friday role.

Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Manager this role will be responsible for the safe, sustainable, efficient, long term energy supply and distribution system across the Mill. The role is supported by a shift operational and maintenance team in the first instance, backed up and supported by the site maintenance team. This role covers the appropriate mix of leadership, strong safety ethos, and team work to manage compliance, quality outcomes, on time delivery and best value for money.

Key responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act and Company Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Manage the electrical maintenance reliability programme ensuring a continuous improvement ethos across all systems.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to team members, colleagues, consultants, and business units.
  • Providing effective team leadership through mentoring, coaching, effective communication and developing individuals at all levels for future roles.

The successful Applicant will ideally have the following attributes:

  • A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Proven experience in maintenance and/or reliability engineering role in a complex manufacturing operation.
  • Familiar in best practice maintenance methodologies, systems, and processes.
  • An approachable and sound leader with the ability to motivate and problem solve.
  • Knowledge and ability to develop and implement continuous improvement lean manufacturing techniques.
